Engine
Engine mounts have rubber and sometimes oil filled rubber mounts. These rubber mounts separate, crack, break, and leak over time. Typically engine mounts will last ten to fifteen years. Every Lexus LS430 we have seen has a totally separated and broken driver side engine mount. The engine torques towards the passenger side and tears the mount in half.
This puts stress on the transmission mount and that’s usually the next one to fail. Broken engine mounts reduce the power transmitted from the engine to the ground. Bad mounts cause safety issues, clunking, and possible engine damage.
The same concept holds true for engine wiring and components. Over times connectors crack and break, become unplugged, and can trigger emissions codes and check engine warning lights.
