This Cappuccino has had careful ownership and maintenance. With 149,056 km (≈ 92,619 miles) on the odometer, it remains relatively rust-free and shows only minor cosmetic signs of use. The paint is fading on the deck lid and spoiler. There is some aluminum corrosion on the roof bar.

We imported and titled the Cappuccino in Wisconsin and it is stored in San Diego, CA. Wisconsin titled kei-cars cannot be operated legally on Wisconsin roads per statute 341.10(6). They can be operated off-road and on private land. The rules and laws will differ by state and the Wisconsin title can be transferred to any other state.

Kei cars and trucks have been “banned” in Wisconsin since 2013. Wisconsin Quietly Banned Japanese Tiny Car Imports 13 Years Ago But Forgot To Enforce It Until Now.

We confirmed the body-structure, underside and engine bay meet our high standards prior to listing.

On the road the Cappuccino delivers an engaging drive: with the lightweight ~725 kg chassis, front-mid engine layout, RWD and removable roof panels, it stands out from typical convertibles. Whether you’re entering the U.S. 25-year import market or adding a rare kei-roadster to your collection, this model delivers pure fun and excellent value among JDM imports.

Why This One Stands Out

  • Later EA21R Model Perks: Compared to earlier EA11R versions, this model benefits from a stronger, maintenance-free engine, added comfort features, and better handling thanks to lighter components and upgrades.
  • Clean and Ready: Comes with a CarVX report for peace of mind, and is ready for immediate enjoyment right here in Southern California.
  • Fair Pricing from Enthusiasts: At $8000, this is significantly under normal retail value for well-kept Cappuccinos (most range from roughly $6,000 to $15,000 depending on condition and spec)

Ownership History and Condition

The EA11R was offered from 1991-1994 and was equipped with the F6A engine (iron block, aluminum head) with a timing belt. This model is heavier than the later model. These early models lacked power steering.

The EA21R was equipped with the lighter aluminum block and head K6A engine with chain driven camshafts along with lighter wheels. The engine has a little more torque, maintenance free timing chain and had an optional 3-speed automatic transmission, ABS, and power steering. The manual transmission and air conditioning came standard.

What documents come with the car?
Wisconsin title, dealer purchase contract, bill of sale (optional with payment info), and a Wisconsin buyer’s guide (our full inspection).
Do you arrange shipping?
Yes—open or enclosed transport anywhere in the continental U.S. Typical transit time is 3–10 business days depending on distance and carrier availability.
Can I get financing?
Many banks and credit unions finance imported vehicles; requirements vary. We’ll provide any paperwork they need. We recommend LightStream for unsecured lending options.
Can I do a pre-purchase inspection (PPI)?
We perform a comprehensive inspection in-house and can provide additional photos or videos on request. For insurance reasons, vehicles cannot be taken off-site.
How do I place a deposit or hold the car?
We don’t accept deposits on inbound cars. To reserve or start a custom search, use our JDM vehicle search and purchase down payment deposit. Deposits are typically non-refundable and applied to the purchase price.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Wire transfer, cashier’s check, and cash. For smaller amounts (e.g., deposits), credit card, ACH, or wire may be available. Title and release occur after funds clear.
Is there a warranty?
Vehicles are sold as-is, without warranty. We’re happy to answer detailed condition questions and provide extra photos or videos.
How is mileage displayed?
JDM vehicles display kilometers from the factory. We list kilometers and provide a miles conversion for convenience.
Will it pass emissions in my state?
Federal 25-year imports are typically exempt from EPA/DOT conformity; state emissions/inspection rules vary. Some areas require safety or opacity checks; California has additional CARB rules. Please verify local requirements before purchase.
Do you take trades?
Case-by-case. Send year, make, model, VIN, photos, and payoff (if applicable) for a quick evaluation.
Parts and service for this model?
We source OEM and aftermarket parts directly from Japan and stock many wear items. For platforms like Toyota 2JZ-GTE, there’s extensive U.S. support.
